Good way to see a lot in a little time
I liked this because you see a lot of Málaga without too much exertion. It was really handy for my elderly mother. She saw great views of the city - especially on the blue route alongside the sea. We just got off at the places that interested us the most. Like near the Málaga Cathedral, Plaza de Toros, places like that. Pro tip: if there’s space on the upper deck, which there should be, sit there! It’s really nice to feel the breeze on your face and get fresh air while sightseeing.
Very nice package deal
You actually get a lot more than just a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour. There’s an audio guide, so you learn some history about the most important sites. And for me the best part was the museum entry. I wouldn’t have known about the Carmen Thyssen Museum otherwise. And in the end we visited and loved the artwork. Plus, it goes without saying that you really see the entire city just from the bus. I mean Málaga isn’t thaaaaaat big, but still, it gives you a great feel for the city.

Finally, the blue route finishes at Calle Larios - Málaga’s most famous shopping street!
TAKE THE GREEN LINE TO SEE MÁLAGA’S NORTHERN SIDE
The green route is your ticket to everything green in Málaga - most of it north of the city center. Travel up and down the river Guadalmedina, enjoying views over the water, and reach San José Parque. This is a great place for kids, with plenty of play areas, ponds, statues, and greenery. Then head to the Jardín Botánico - or Botanical Gardens. This sprawling space has over 50,000 plants! There’s over 2,000 different species of tropical, subtropical, and autochthonous types. Also on this route is a stop for Málaga’s football stadium - the site of the annual Costa del Sol Trophy Cup.
EXPLORE THE CITY CENTRE ON THE RED ROUTE
Board the red route to see the heart of Málaga and the city’s most iconic landmarks. Begin by passing Paseo del Parque, the city’s central park, and Playa de Malagueta - the most popular beach. Drive over Plaza de Toros to reach Castillo de Gibralfaro: the city’s looming stone fortress. Soon you’ll also see Casa de Picasso - a museum of Pablo Picasso’s birthplace! Finally, pass by the Carmen Thyssen Museum and the Málaga Cathedral. The Carmen Thyssen is an art museum you have free entry for. The cathedral is also worth a visit - an impressive Renaissance-Baroque cathedral.
